LUCY Lawless (pictured) has resharpened her sword after signing up for Spartacus: Blood And Sand, a series executive produced by her husband Robert Tapert.
Finding her inner-gladiator has been easy for the New Zealand actress who spent six years starring in Xena: Warrior Princess.
The actress plays Lucretia, who she describes as a ‘‘ kind of Lady Macbeth characterâ€

in the series, which premieres in the US on Pay-TV network Starz on January 22.
Shot on location in New Zealand, the one-hour drama also stars Andy Whitfield, who made a name for himself in the Shane Abbess-directed film Gabriel in 2007.
