Ieri sera è stato annunciato ufficialmente da Starz un prequel di sei episodi incentrato sulla casa di Batiatus e il Ludus prima dell'arrivo di Spartacus.
Al fianco di Batiatus ci sarà Lucretia, interpretata da Lucy Lawless, e Andy Whitfield, che al momento è sotto cure per via del cancro, apparirà brevemente in due episodi.
Ritroveremo Crixus(Manu Bennet), Barca(Antonio Te Maioho), Ashur(Nick E. Tarabay), Naevia(Leslie Ann-Brandt) e dei nuovi personaggi, incluso il Campione di Capua antecedente Crixus e Spartacus.

e vabbe ma meglio di niente e poi e materiale che si aggiunge alla serie tv spartacus..se devo essere sincero non mi dispiace sopratutto di vedere lucy come una protagonista..

secondo me non è una grande idea fare degli episodi su due peronaggi che sono destinati a morire inoltre era un'occasione per cambiare ambientazione e invece così rimangono sempre nel ludus..d'altro canto mi fa piacere che la miniserie sia incentrata su Lucy.

Lucy avrebbe bisogno di partecipare ad una serie totalmente diversa dalle ambientazioni storiche,e che la metta in rilevo.
Credo che Battlestar Galactica poteva essere una di quelle serie, ma è andata diversamente.

la serie sarà un prequel della 1 stagione ...e cis sarà tanto lucy .
La Starz è pronta a non deludere i fan di questa serei che ha fatto ascolti incredibili per una cable network ...sempre al top dei ratings ...........la cosa + importante è che l'attore andy però si riprenda presto..........pare sti arispondendo bene alle cure .

Starz ha ordinato un prequel di Spartacus: Blood and Sand che servirà a tenere viva l’attenzione dei telespettatori e (soprattutto) a dare al protagonista Andy Withfield tutto il tempo che serve per guarire dal cancro contro cui sta combattendo; la bella notizia è che comunque l’attore apparirà nella serie, seppur in maniera molto ridotta, la brutta è che non vedremo il prequel prima di gennaio dell’anno prossimo.

I fan di “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” possono invece stare tranquilli: la serie tornerà il prossimo anno, ma in una versione prequel, che però avrà al suo interno quasi tutti i personaggi visti nella prima stagione, intepretati tra gli altri da John Hannah e Lucy Lawless. La malattia di Andy Whitfield non gli avrebbe permesso di prendere parte alle riprese della seconda stagione dello show, così Starz ha deciso di sfruttare lo staff per realizzare sei episodi di un prequel.

Whitfield malato ma Spartacus non si ferma
La seconda serie di Spartacus è stata sospesa: al protagonista Andy Whitfield è stato riscontrato un linfoma non Hodgkin, cancro maligno che, preso per tempo, dovrebbe essere curabile. Starz Preps Prequel To 'Spartacus'
With the series' lead actor undergoing cancer treatment, Starz is turning its Spartacus franchise to a prequel.
The premium network has ordered a six-installment precursor to Spartacus: Blood and Sand, eyeing a January debut.
The story will center on John Hannah and Lucy Lawless, the husband (Batiatus) and wife (Lucretia) team that ran the Ludus, the gladiator training camp where Spartacus trained and became a star of the arena. Both were killed in the first-season finale.
The prequel will feature Andy Whitfield, who plays the title character, in "a limited capacity," according to Starz.
Whitfield has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and is undergoing treatment.
Before the series even debuted, Starz committed to a 13-episode second campaign.

‘Spartacus: Blood and Sand’ Season 2 Potentially Delayed
Rumors have also surfaced that a prequel series could be under way with a younger actor filling Whitfield’s role as Spartacus, but it’s not clear if Lucy Lawless and John Hannah will be starring in that as well. NY Magazine seems to be confirming that Starz will be developing a 6-episode mini-series prequel to keep momentum going with the show’s nearly one million weekly viewers. Whatever happens, we wish Andy Whitfield a speedy recovery.
